Students from Mr.Peterson's Junior High Science Class presented several mini lessons about the four seasons, to Mrs. McBride's Kindergarten Class. The junior high students had a very attentive audience, and their lessons were very informative!
High School Varsity Scholar's Bowl traveled to Minneapolis yesterday for its first tournament of the year. Congratulations to these students for a 3rd place finish to start the year.
In the library, 2nd graders did a series study and illustrator deep dive with the beloved Creepy Carrots book series. They created their own creepy carrots, underwear, and crayons to hide around the library during Halloween week!

SES has a National Champ! Congrats to Landon Albrecht on being the top individual at the National FFA Competition in Agronomy CDE. The team of Landon Albrecht, Evan Watkins, Eli Olander and Caden Parry placed 5th. Individually Landon and Eli were Gold Emblem Individuals and Evan and Caden were Silver Emblem Individuals. Congratulations the team and Mrs. Petty on a great job at Nationals!

Mrs. McBride's Kindergarten class has been reading the story "Halloween Pie". Today the students recreated the main characters "spell" and the kiddos put a spell on their own Halloween pie. It was all thumbs up after everyone was able to have a bite of the pie!
Elementary STUCO organized bus cleaning day to thank our drivers for all they do!
1st grade are learning about verbs and did an activity with verbs and bats-what can bats do!

This week is National School Bus Safety Week!
This afternoon we will be conducting a bus evacuation drill to show students what to do in case of an emergency should the bus have to be evacuated. These drills - practiced on our campus - do take time and may cause slight delays. We appreciate your patience, as these drills are vital to proper bus education.
Safety is our main priority both on and off the bus. You can help us with this process by talking with your student(s) about the right way to ride the bus. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe while riding school transportation!
We are very thankful for the individuals that work hard each day to keep our students safe to and from school. This week is a great opportunity for parents to remind their students of the responsibility they have to participate in their own school bus safety by following rules and respecting their bus drivers.
Today is Kansas Bus Driver Appreciation Day, SES thanks our bus drivers for caring about our students and transporting them safely every day.
The National FFA Agronomy team is competing today in Indianapolis! Good luck to this hard-working group of SES students!

JH Music Appreciation class listened to "The Banshee" by Henry Cowell. They created 3 minute sketches inspired by what they heard. They learned about prepared pianos and investigated the inside of one of our instruments.
The lady Trojans wrap up the final game against Council Grove. 25-12, 25-14. 2-1 for the night should qualify for the next round. Bracket will be posted when released.
Regional volleyball in Neodesha. Trojans win the first game 25-18, 25-20 against Fredonia.
