**Information on the Council Grove Girls Wrestling Tournament**
We will be canceling our tournament on Saturday due to weather and moving it to Monday. We will start at 3:00. We will have a 2:00 weigh-in.

**Due to the incoming weather, Council Grove is moving the start time for tomorrow's wrestling tournament to 11am.**

Congratulations to senior band student Charlotte Knopf for being selected to the state KMEA honor band!! This is her third straight year being involved in this ensemble.

On Tuesday, January 13, the elementary Building Leadership Team hosted the Board of Education for our first ever Glow and Show. Board members toured 9 different classrooms to observe quality instruction and high impact instructional strategies being used across our building. SES is blessed to have a loving a dedicated staff serving our students and families! Thank you to our BOE members for spending the morning with us!

Dear SES Parents/guardians:

The peak of flu season is upon us. To help keep our students and staff healthy, we ask that you please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

- Fever (greater than 100 degrees)
- Headache
- Vomiting (even once)
- Diarrhea
- Chills
- Muscle aches
- Extreme tiredness
- Sore throat/cough

Influenza is most contagious during the first 48 hours. According to school policy, a child who has a fever should remain at home until fever free WITHOUT medication for a MINIMUM of 24 hours. Often when a child awakens with vague complaints, it is wise to observe your child at home for an hour or two before deciding whether to send them to school. Your child should be physically able to participate in all school activities upon returning to school. Keeping sick kids at home will help minimize the spread in the classroom.

This Saturday, the KWU Men’s and Women’s basketball teams will be playing Evangel University at Mabee Arena. The women’s game tips off at 1:00 PM, followed by the men’s game at 3:00 PM.

It is also Southeast of Saline Night, so everyone from SES will receive free admission. We would love to see a great turnout, so please help spread the word.
