Katelynn Toews is the Southeast of Saline junior high student of the month. Katelynn is an 8th grader and the daughter of Lisa and Craig Toews. Her favorite thing about our school is all the people and activities the students get to do. She also likes how the students get a lot of opportunities to be in clubs and sports. Finally, she likes to be a part of several fun and challenging events. Katelynn's greatest achievement would be making the KMEA Honor Band in the seventh grade. It was an amazing experience for her to be able to play in a band with kids her own age that are really good at their instrument. She is involved in dance through Tamara Howe School of Dance and really enjoys it. At SES, Katelynn is in band and plays the trumpet and piano. She is also involved in trap shooting and really enjoys it. Her favorite part is the feeling when you shoot a clay target into a million pieces. Her nominator stated that she "works very hard in class, is very respectful and has a great personality. She consistently helps others in class as well." In the future, she plans to attend college and become a teacher. She wants to help other people achieve what they want to do like all of her teachers have done for her throughout her life. Congrats Katelynn!
