HS Student of the Month - November

LaVone Hopkins has been selected as the high school student of the month at Southeast of Saline. LaVone is a sophomore at SES and the son of Jody F. Thayer and Thaddeus D. Hopkins. His favorite thing about SES is he likes how you can make friends so easily. LaVone says "People don't judge you for being different." He says that if you ever need help, the teachers are really good at helping you if you ask. He also likes how the sports help to make a family. His greatest achievement would be playing sports at Southeast. He says this because "I can really be myself around the team and not get judged." He also is proud of helping the team make it where they are now in the playoffs and hopefully to state. LaVone is involved in football, wrestling, vocal and a member of Madz, our select vocal ensemble. In the future, LaVone plans to go to the NFL and if that doesn't work out, he plans to be a therapist, doctor or coach. His nominator stated that "LaVone is an incredible individual both on and off the field. He is an individual that I can rely on to take learning seriously while making the experience fun for everyone around him. His drive and determination in his pursuit for success is evident in everything that he does, and I am very thankful to have him in the classroom!" Great job LaVone!
