Mr. Kurt Krehbiel has been selected as the October Staff Member of the Month at Southeast of Saline. Mr. Krehbiel teaches 7-12 Art and has been at SES for 28 of his 29 years in education. He has three favorite things about Southeast. First and foremost, the students. Next he loves the importance of academics, athletics and the arts. Finally, he enjoys that there are minimal discipline issues at SES. His greatest achievement is trying to be a positive male role model for every student who walks into his room, on the football field or on the wrestling mat. Mr. Krehbiel recieved his bachelor's degree from Bethany College and later his Masters in Educational Administration from Wichita State University. Mr. Krehbiel is married to his wife Sara and they have two sons, Matthew and Brandon. He is also a proud grandfather to three boys, Grayson, Teddy and Ezekiel to Brandon and his wife Jenna. When nominated, a fellow staff member said "there are lots of reasons to nominate Mr. Krehbiel, including his teaching skill level and his passion for the students. He is very hands on in helping with anything I need help with concerning the students." Another staff member stated "that his students have been performing at a high level for all of the arts shows and he is very highly respected by the other teachers in the building." Mr. Krehbiel's message to students is "Don't do anything stupid! The choices you make today WILL impact the rest of your life. Be yourself - stop trying to be like everyone else." Congrats Mr. Krehbiel!
