USD 306 Southeast of Saline

Clayton Shelby is a senior at Southeast of Saline and is our August Student of the Month. He is the son of Jimmy and Sarah Shelby. His favorite thing about SES is all the teachers and paras because they have gave him the support he needed throughout school. His greatest achievement in high school was receiving a Trojan Choice Award. He is involved in FFA and basketball and currently attend Salina Area Technical School concurrently with SES. In the future, he plans to finish his fire science degree to become a firefighter and also farm. His nominator said "he's always positive and upbeat and ready to help in any situation.  School is hard for him but he works hard so he can be a success." Another nominator stated "Clayton continues to impress me with how much he has grown from a freshman to a senior. Within the first couple days of school he was already emailing me to let me know he might be late to class last week because of a doctor's appointment. He wasn't, but his email was very well-formatted: correct salutation and signature. There was no "text speak". It was a professional communication with complete sentences, capitalization, spelling, etc.  Congrats Clayton!
