Athlete of the Month

Dylan Esch has been selected as the May student of the month for Southeast of Saline High School. Dylan is a senior and the son of Brian and Lori Esch. Dylan is involved in Golf at SES. His favorite thing about SES schools is he likes the fact that excellence is EXPECTED from everyone. He says that SES is just the right size that even the younger kids can take part in the success happening in the higher levels. He feels like this creates an atmosphere that makes succeeding very attainable. His greatest achievement is this year he knocked on the door of the Top 15 in all classes in the state. This was huge for him as being ranked at that level is no accident. "It was very validating and nice to see all of the work that nobody sees is paying off." In the future, he will continue his golf career at Kansas Wesleyan University. I chose to play there because his coach, Randy Syring, who has had a tremendous impact on his career as well as his life outside of golf. Depending on the amount of success he has at the collegiate level, he will either continue to play golf or pursue a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) career. Dylan's advice to others to get involved is "I think that if someone can learn to become obsessed with something they are passionate about, that will take them a very long way." Congratulations Dylan!
